Well… Isn’t this interesting.

I never liked alcohol (unless you count communion wine, but I don’t).  But last night, I drank some sort of champagne that was actually sweet and wasn’t a speck bad.  Yum.  If I ever become an alcoholic, you know what to blame.

I’d never gotten a great zoom of this before… but these are the pictures on Christine’s dressing room table. I’ve always wondered who they were.

I remember noticing that Elizabeth Welch reached out to one fondly right before Raoul shows up at the door. I guess she played it as one of them being of her dad?

Makes sense. The photos and items do vary a lot from each production, but it seems likely the prominent photos are meant to be of her parents and/or other family members. A photo of maman and monsieur Valerius might also have found its way there.

I have a good closeup from Hamburg, I’ll post it.

“There is an energetic ferocity in Gimli that the film needs. It’s often these minor characters who really have to impart a sense of energy and dynamism to a film so that the heroes can actually take their time to respond and be thoughtful and reflective.”

I actually think this was pretty responsible. Rather than banning it outright, which would result in kids wanting to rebel even more, she offers it in her home where she can control the amount people drink. Good on ya, Mrs George. You’re a cool mom.
